Michelin
The French tire manufacturer holds the second spot in the list of the world’s largest tire manufacturing companies, behind Bridgestone and before Goodyear and Continental. The company manufactures tires for aircraft, automobiles, bicycles, motorcycles, space shuttles, and heavy equipment.
It was founded in 1889 by Edouard Michelin and André Michelin. One of the key players in the auto and truck industry, Michelin has a very interesting logo. Bibendum or the Michelin Man is nothing short of an iconic one and happens to be one of the oldest trademarks in the world.
Nunc est Bibendum was his slogan. It’s a Latin translation of Now is the time to drink. The original idea came to the Michelin brothers in 1894. It was a nice business strategy from the duo.
