Caroline finally drove right before the house she was looking for; the internet was undoubtedly not lying; it was looking unkept; the picket fences were barely held together and would break down any moment with the weight of a gusty wind. The gate was rickety at best and made strange noises, almost protesting when she pushed it inward.
The house looked sad to her, as if it badly wanted some people to live there again so that it would be restored to its former glory. Caroline knew her thoughts were rambling and shook herself out of it as she made her way towards the door.
