Joe Manchin (Born in 1947) – $8 Million
With an estimated net worth of $8 million, Joe Manchin made a fortune long before stepping into politics. In 1988, he founded Enersystems, a coal brokerage company that still pays him well, bringing in $476K in 2022 alone.
Before heading to the Senate in 2010, he served as West Virginia’s Governor and Secretary of State, making a name for himself as a moderate Democrat willing to shake up both parties. While other politicians live in lavish D.C. mansions, he keeps it simple—his Washington home is a houseboat named “Almost Heaven.” His income comes from his Senate salary, investments, and his coal business.
