Nelsan Ellis — Congestive Heart Failure
The American playwright and actor garnered critical acclamation for his performance as Lafayette Reynolds in HBO TV series, True Blood, which earned him a Satellite Award, among other awards and recognition. His portrayal of Shinwell Johnson in the American drama Elementary received much appreciation and so did his film roles which include Eddie Sweat from Secretariat. Ellis had issues with alcohol abuse, but instead of visiting an alcohol rehab, he chose to get rid of his addiction on his own. The alcohol withdrawal syndrome led to his death on July 8, 2017. We have no knowledge of his health insurance plans, but we do miss seeing him on our TV screens.
