Len Lesser gained immense popularity for portraying the character of Sergeant Bellamy in the 1970 war film, Kelly’s Heroes and got the recurring role of Uncle Leo in the hugely popular sitcom, Seinfeld. It was his stint on Seinfeld which gave Len worldwide fame, and he earned enough money to pay for his life insurance premiums for the rest of his life. The veteran actor breathed his last in 2011 at 88, and the reason for his death was cited as pneumonia which was caused by cancer. If he had lived to this day, he could have received better cancer treatment, or so we wish.
