Andy Hallett — Congestive Heart Failure
Most of us know Andy Hallett as the actor who portrayed the character of Lorne in the WB TV series, Angel. However, the actor, who also left his mark as a singer, started to experience medical complications in 2005. It all started with a dental infection which led to cardiomyopathy – a medical condition that affects the heart muscles. Andy used his health insurance plan and opted for different types of medical treatments. However, his long battle with heart diseases came to a stop when he died of a severe heart failure on March 29, 2009. We believe medical school students can take up Andy’s case to study how apparently treatable conditions can lead to fatal conditions.
