Christopher D’Olier Reeve attained superstar status for his acting feats, and of course, for his portrayal of Superman a DC comic superhero in the 1978 blockbuster, Superman. In May 1995, Reeve suffered quadriplegia when he was thrown from a horse during a competition in Virginia. A portable ventilator and a wheelchair became his constant companions for the remaining days of his life. Reeves struggled with allergies and asthma since the time he was a child, and his condition declined in the later stages of life. Christopher left for his heavenly abode in 2004 due to some infection complications, and though he never visited a rehab or hired a divorce attorney at any moment, his health got the better of him.
