Love in the World of Politics: Famous Politicians and Their Better Halves
Paul Ryan and Janna Ryan – Together Since 2000
Janna Ryan was thrust onto the national stage owing to her congressman husband, Paul Ryan. He was the Republican vice-presidential nominee and played the stay-at-home role with aplomb raising three young children, Liza, Charles, and Sam, in Wisconsin.
Janna has been a Washington operative, who hails from a well-connected family and forged an early professional career donning a congressional aide and healthcare lobbyist role.
Paul and Janna met and got hitched in 2000. The couple met as they were running in the same circles while on Capitol Hill. A mutual friend set them up and invited the congressman to her 30th birthday celebration. After their wedding, which took place in Janna’s home state of Oklahoma, the couple finally shifted to Paul Ryan’s hometown, Janesville, Wisconsin, and began their married life. Janna continues to focus on her family as a stay-at-home mother and is great support for her husband.
