Margaret O’ Brien – 1937
It was as a child actress that Margaret got her first recognition. She was even awarded a Juvenile Academy Award in 1944. To date, Margaret has been one of the most popular child artists in the history of Hollywood. As a five-year-old, her first big break came in Journey of Margaret. Though her original name was Angela Maxine O’Brien, the success of the movie influenced her, prompting and finally deciding to change her name to Margaret. Her most popular movies include Meet Me In St Louis, The Canterville Ghosts, and Jane Eyre. With the advent of TV, she started getting adult roles as well. Her Oscar was stolen from her when she was only 17, and she got it back 50 years later in a dramatic turn of events.
