Off-screen, his romance with his wife of 43 years, Susan Geston, warms the cockles of our hearts. Though he was only 28 when he met Susan, who was working at a ranch where Jeff was shooting, he knew she was the love of his life.

He was not ready to settle down and even when Susan came to live with him in LA, she had to give him an ultimatum after which he decided to take the vows.
