TLC reigned supreme on the R&B scene in the ‘90s. In a perfect world, the group should have enough money to set them up for life. On the contrary, the girls had filed for bankruptcy in 1995, claiming that their contractual agreement was robbing them blind. Their earnings were apparently a mere 7% of the turnover of some records, and a little more for others. Overall, they were barely making enough to guarantee their nutrition and well-being. They didn’t go broke – truth was, they never even had a chance at getting rich. It’s quite unfortunate that corporate greed took away everything that they had worked so hard to achieve. They haven’t really gotten the justice that they deserve, but they won the hearts of millions.
