ABRAHAM LINCOLN: FAILED BUSINESS
Money troubles do not define anyone – and former US President Abraham Lincoln knew that only too well after he got dragged around by debtors in the 1840s. Lincoln may have been a decent president, but he was less than skilled in business finance and financial planning. And after trying his hands at a business, he became what is now considered bankrupt. But without any bankruptcy law provisions to bail him out back then, he was at the mercy of his debtors and consequent depression. Yet somehow, he managed to turn things around. He still went down in history as one of the greatest presidents that the United States has ever seen, and made sure that the country was far better when he died than when he was born.
