Kelis was one of those wealthy celebrities that didn’t take care about their earnings nor planned their future really well. She went bankrupt when she went through a divorce with ex-husband Nas. The singer claims she was dependent on Nas and didn’t really have a backup plan. Had she gotten herself a dependable financial planning advisor, she might have evaded this entire situation altogether. Instead, she had to completely reset her living conditions and lifestyle because she certainly couldn’t afford her previous one. Her dependence on her ex-husband turned out to be her downfall.
