Jackie could not make head or tales about the note. In order to make sense of it, she kept reading it. She sank deeper into the chair. The note caused her unbearable pain. What did the waitress mean? Was she trying to insult her sensibilities?
Maybe she was thinking negatively, there was a deeper meaning to the note, one that she was unable to understand. What should she do? Ask her? She was in a complete dilemma. However, finally, she was beginning to see some sense in the note. And it inspired her.
