If you are talking about the sitcoms of the 90s, especially the ones that had dysfunctional families where each family member was getting into some trouble every other day, Family Matters would definitely come up. Due to the immense success of the show, Perfect Strangers, the producers planned a spin-off on the show, and thus, Family Matters was born. Started in 1989, the show was well-received, and eventually reached sky-high success which allowed Family Matters to run for six long years, boosting the bank balance of the cast and the crew. What made the show even more special was the fact that unlike now, the cast remained the same for the duration of six years. The viewers could easily connect with each of them. As the show grew older, the cast became like a part of their lives, like a close family member.
