Norma Jean Mortensen or Marilyn Monroe, as we know her, was brought up as a child in an orphanage and a foster home. In the initial phases of her life in 1944, the How To Marry A Millionaire actress was employed with the Radiophone Factory, and this picture that you see belongs to those times. David Conover, a photographer, was paying a visit at the factory site to do a piece of research on behalf of the First Motion Picture Unit of the U.S. Army Air Force when he clicked Monroe, and in no time, Marilyn became a successful model. Jean Norman was the very first name she used at the start of her career, but after an executive of 20th Century Fox picked Marilyn Monroe for her, she ruled the hearts by that name till her death — Marilyn had been derived from the name of a Broadway performer, and Monroe was her mom’s unwedded name.
