Melissa Sue Anderson n’avait que 11 ans quand elle a fait ses débuts d’actrice dans des séries télévisées Little House on the Prairie jouant le rôle de Mary Ingalls. Elle a peut-être manqué de gagner un Emmy pour ce rôle, mais elle l’a finalement eu pour jouer Alex dans Which Mother is Mine?. En plus d’agir, Anderson a également essayé d’écrire; elle a écrit une autobiographie appelée The Way I See It – A Look Back at My Life on Little House ce qui l’a aidée au moins à construire des avoirs nets de 1,5 million de dollars.
