Regina Duarte é uma atriz e diretora de teatro brasileira. Estreou em 1965 na TV Excelsior em 1969, devido a crise financeira na emissora, transferiu-se para a TV Globo e fez dezenas de personagens marcantes, como Selva de Pedra, Roque Santeiro, Vale Tudo, além da trilogia das Helenas em obras de Manoel Carlos. Em 2020 assumiu a pasta da Secretaria Especial da Cultura no governo de Jair Bolsonaro, cargo que exerceu até 20 de maio do mesmo ano.
Ela é uma das atrizes mais bem pagas do Brasil, estima-se que a fortuna dela seja por volta de 50 milhões de reais, muito disso devido a direitos autorais em novelas e séries.
