Traveling can be stressful. But there is nothing like getting special treatment on your flight to make you feel like a VIP. From getting upgraded to first-class to receiving personalized attention from the flight crew, there are many ways you can improve your flying experience.

If you are looking to get special treatment on your next flight, here are six creative tips that will help you stand out from the crowd.

6. Dress to Impress

You have probably heard the saying “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have”. Well, the same applies to air travel. If you want to be treated like a first-class passenger, dress the part. However, this does not mean that you need to wear a suit or a fancy dress. But choose comfortable and stylish clothes that are appropriate for your destination.

Avoid wearing flip-flops, shorts, or revealing clothing, as this may give the impression that you are not serious about your trip. Or, you do not value the experience.

5. Be Polite and Friendly

Flight crews deal with hundreds of passengers every day, so being friendly, polite and patient can make a big difference in how they treat you. Start by greeting the crew with a smile and a hello, and make an effort to remember their names. Avoid demanding or negative behavior, and instead, ask politely for what you need. If you are a frequent flyer, consider joining an airline loyalty program to earn points and rewards for your travel.

4. Bring Gifts

Bringing a small gift for the flight crew can be a great way to get special treatment on your flight. Something as simple as a box of chocolates or a bag of treats can go a long way in showing your appreciation for their hard work.

So, choose a small gift that is easy to carry. And that will not take up too much space in your luggage.

3. Request Special Services

If you have special needs or requests, do not hesitate to ask. Many airlines offer special services for passengers with disabilities, medical conditions, or young children. You can also request special meals, blankets, pillows, or entertainment options to make your flight more comfortable.

Just make sure to request these services well in advance, as they may require additional preparation time.

2. Upgrade Your Seat

One of the best ways to get special treatment on your flight is to upgrade your seat. Many airlines offer upgrade options for economy passengers, which can include extra legroom, larger seats, better meals, and more personalized service.

Upgrading your seat can be a great way to improve your overall flying experience, especially if you are going on a long-haul flight.

1. Complain Effectively

If something goes wrong during your flight, it is important to complain effectively in order to get the best possible outcome. Avoid getting angry or rude, and instead, explain your situation calmly and clearly. Be specific about what you are unhappy with, and offer suggestions for how the airline can make it right.

In many cases, airlines will offer compensation or special treatment to unhappy passengers as a way of making up for their mistakes.
