Turtle Towers
In a city known for its flashy symbols of affluence, Dubai’s elite often takes a turn for the turtle. Yes, you read that right. ‘Turtle stacking’ is a relatively new trend among the well-heeled. A photo capturing a local in traditional attire holding a carefully balanced tower surfaced.
While in the wild, these reptiles might pile up to soak some sun, this urban stack appears more man-made. The image prompts both fascination and concern: as magnificent as the stack might look, these creatures are endangered. Though the allure of “standing tall” is evident, one can only hope the trend remains a fleeting fascination and not a norm.
