In 2016, Balvinder Sahni, an Indian-origin real estate magnate in Dubai, forked out an astonishing USD 8.98 million at an auction for the sought-after ‘D5’ license plate. Not stopping there, he also splurged on another Dubai plate for 1 million dirhams (USD 272K).
You will be astonished to know Balvinder’s plans for the ‘D5.’ He wanted to grace his black Rolls-Royce. This isn’t his first foray into the luxury plate realm, as he previously acquired the ‘O9’ plate for a hefty sum. Purchasing unique number plates is his hobby, demonstrating the opulence and allure of vanity items among Dubai’s elite.
