Whether broadcasting from the field or the studio, journalists are constantly exposed to risks while delivering news to the public. While those working in the field may have to contend with more apparent dangers, such as armed conflicts and natural disasters, even those in the relative safety of a studio are not immune to unexpected events.
One example of this was experienced by the presenters of KTLA when a powerful earthquake shook the station while they were on air. The presenters reacted quickly, without much time to think, and got underneath the desks—a suitable reaction to the situation. However, it was amusing to look back on.
