No One Saw That F-Bomb Coming
Teleprompters are beneficial devices for news anchors, enabling them to read their scripts without looking away from the camera. Although these tools significantly reduce the chance of mistakes, accidental slips of the tongue can still occur during live broadcasts, making for some rather amusing viewing.
A prime example is the 2011 incident involving Holly Pietrzak, a reporter for WDBJ7 in Virginia. She was mid-sentence when, instead of saying the word ‘luck’ as intended, an F-word slipped out in what can only be described as a classic Freudian slip. The newsreader’s facial expression was priceless! All Pietrzak was trying to say was, “more teens are having luck finding summer jobs.”
