Cora’s immediate response to the flight attendant’s request was sheer bewilderment. She lifted her gaze, her face a portrait of puzzlement and disbelief. Initially, she questioned if she had perhaps misheard or misunderstood the attendant’s words. But as the attendant reiterated the demand, the harsh reality set in. “Ma’am, I’m afraid I must ask you to vacate your seat,” the attendant stated firmly.
What compounded Cora’s astonishment was the attendant’s seeming indifference to her boarding pass or seat assignment. It was as if her mere presence in the business class cabin was the sole reason for this unexpected eviction. This perplexing and sudden development left the older woman stunned.
