Anders was zealous about his collections in every sense of the word. Instead of risking one of his small funds, he would rather gamble away a dollar. The students he was overseeing finally became aware of his particular interest in the subject.
Because they cared so much about him, the children felt driven to aid him in his time of need. They would frequently give Anders a bag filled with coins to present to him at school.
Instead of merely acknowledging the generosity of the donors, Anders enacted a strict set of guidelines. He would never take somebody else’s money without first receiving appropriate compensation.
