Best Rock Bands Who Had Impressed Their Fans Over The Years With Their Scintillating Performances

Grateful Dead

The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed way back in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The band is recognized for its eclectic style, which incorporated the elements of rock, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, blues, rock and roll, gospel, reggae, world music, and psychedelia. Their forte is live performances of lengthy instrumental jams that include modal and tonal improvisation; and for their dedicated fan base, ‘Deadheads’ The Grateful Dead are the ultimate icons.

The Grateful Dead was considered one of the most consistent U.S. tourers of all time. With a brief lull in their career in 1975, they continued to tour the U.S. constantly from the winter of 1965 until the summer of 1995. It was only with the death of lead guitarist and singer Jerry Garcia that year, that they stopped touring for a while. The remaining bandmates had continued to go for separate tours after Garcia’s death.
