Jcourtial’s aerial capture of the first harvest of a lavender field in Provence, France, was awarded first prize in the Nature category at the Dronestagram contest. The photographer shared that it took a lot of patience to get the shot as they had to wait until the farmer was ready to start harvesting with his tractor.
Lavender is not just fragrant but is also known to have antifungal and antibacterial properties. A 2009 study from the University of Coimbra Portugal showed that lavender essential oil effectively stopped the growth of six different strains of bacteria, so it is safe to say that this is a lucrative biz.
