This reminds us of the 1997 movie “Dante’s Peak,” a disaster picture directed by Roger Donaldson and starring Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton.
Explosive eruptions can produce pyroclastic flows, clouds of hot ash, gas, and rock that can travel up to 100 kilometers per hour and reach temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Celsius.
