Alain Bouchard – $6.93 billion CAN ($5.5 billion US)
Alain Bouchard is a Canadian businessman who is the founder, president, and CEO of convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard. Alain Bouchard rose to the billionaire ranks as his stocks saw an almost 64% rise in their stock price since 2012.
He founded a company in 1980 as a single convenience store in Laval, Quebec has now turned into a company of $23 billion (2012 revenue) and has convenience stores (13, 000) stores across Canada, Mexico, the United States, Europe, China, Japan, and Indonesia.
Bouchard still holds the position of the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors for Alimentation Couche-Tard, after taking the position of Brian Hannasch President and Chief Executive Officer in 2014. No wonder, Bouchard’s net worth is about $6.93 billion CAN ($5.5 billion US).
