David Thomson holds the position of the 3rd Baron Thomson of Fleet, a Canadian businessman who has a net worth of $33 billion. David Thomson is the Chairman of the Thomson Reuters Corporation and his family is the richest in Canada.
David is the grandson of Roy Thomson, the man who began the company Thomson Corporation which began with just a single small-town newspaper in Ontario. Thomson Corporation took over Reuters in 2008 and went on to form the Thomson Reuters.
Apart from his family business, he has also invested in True North Entertainment, the company that currently owns the Winnipeg Jets hockey team, and is also the owner of real estate developer Osmington. As of now, his $10.78 billion CAN ($8.56 billion US).
