As an undisputed champion who usually fought in the Middleweight division, Marvin Hagler was quite popular among boxing fans. He was given the nickname Marvelous owing to the success he attained in his career. His reign as undisputed middleweight champion spanned 6 years and 7 months.
That was the second-longest active reign of the 20th century. At 78 percent, he has the highest knockout percentage among all middleweight champions. Hagler has the distinction of having the 6th longest championship reign in the history of the middleweight division.
He has been honored with an induction into the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The Ring as well as the Boxing Writers Association of America named him Fighter of the Year two times. The man has raked in a net worth of something close to $45 million.
