La La, que já era estrela de TV graças a uma série de programas da VH1, alguns filmes de Hollywood e o programa da MTV, Total Request Live, já era dona de milhões de dólares antes de começar um romance com o astro da NBA. Seu casamento memorável foi ao ar no canal VH1 e embora as coisas estivessem aparentemente indo na direção certa, o casal anunciou sua separação no ano passado, causando tristeza aos fãs.
