El monumento que se muestra en la imagen fue erigido para rendir homenaje a las víctimas y a aquellos valientes que, arriesgando sus vidas, lucharon por contener el desastre de Chernóbil. Su propósito es reconocer los sacrificios y la valentía de estas personas durante una tragedia que cambió el curso de la historia. Muchas vidas hoy deben su existencia a estos héroes que enfrentaron lo impensable.
En 1997, se creó el Fondo de Protección del Reactor de Chernóbil, siguiendo las recomendaciones de diversas organizaciones internacionales. Este fondo tiene como objetivo garantizar la demolición segura de las estructuras contaminadas, un paso crucial para proteger a largo plazo a las personas que aún viven cerca de la zona afectada.
