Luis Alarcón es un actor destacado chileno de cine, teatro y televisión con una larga y exitosa trayectoria artística. En la historia del cine chileno, es el actor con la más larga carrera cinematográfica. Su comienzo fue debutando en teatros universitarios.
Luis es reconocido en su país por haber trabajado en películas muy taquilleras en el cine chileno tales como, Julio comienza en Julio, Tres tristes tigres, La expropiación, Palomita blanca, Los náufragos, entre muchas otras. En televisión se hizo muy conocido por su participación en la telenovela La represa, seguida de otras teleseries emblemáticas como, Volver a empezar, Estúpido cupido, Marta a las ocho, Romané, así como protagonizando la telenovela La fiera, la cual fue premiada y muy elogiada.
Luis, a lo largo de toda su trayectoria ha sido merecedor de muchos premios y reconocimientos por su gran labor artística, y hoy con 91 años, no se detiene y continúa trabajando. Sus últimas apariciones fueron en los filmes Buela Tata, El tango del viudo y su espejo deformante.
