Tom Hanks já fazia sucesso quando era novinho, no filme Quero Ser Grande, e sua carreira só evoluiu quando ele protagonizou o clássico Forrest Gump e, mais tarde, O Náufrago. Ele ganhou 2 Oscars e seu histórico profissional bem-sucedido rendeu ao ator um patrimônio líquido de US$350 milhões (R$1,3 bi), colocando-o na lista das celebridades mais bem pagas da história de Hollywood.
Mesmo assim, não espere ver Tom Hanks dirigindo uma Ferrari customizada com detalhes em ouro por aí. Pelo menos por enquanto, o ator se contentou com um Scion XB, um carro que tem um design extremamente marcante, mas que custa na faixa de US$18 mil (R$70 mil). Tom Hanks parece compartilhar da ideia de que não é inteligente deixar boa parte da sua conta bancária em uma concessionária apenas para chamar a atenção e reafirmar o próprio sucesso.
