Al Roker – Cirurgia de bypass gástrico
O famoso meteorologista da rede NBC tem uma das mais promissoras histórias de sucesso de perda de peso de todos os tempos. Al Roker, que já tinha mais de 140 kg, decidiu cumprir o desejo de seu pai e partiu em uma jornada para atingir a aptidão pessoal. É claro que Al não teve escrúpulos em gastar muito dinheiro e, consequentemente, foi submetido a uma cirurgia de bypass gástrico que lhe custou cerca de US$ 23 mil. A cirurgia, obviamente, ajudou, porque Roker perdeu 45 kg, e mais tarde perdeu mais 40 kg seguindo exercícios rigorosos e uma dieta. Com 72 kg, Roker chegou a detalhar sua experiência em um livro e planeja manter-se saudável para sempre.
