Não é de se admirar que quando se trata de exercícios, ele escolheu o ciclismo que tem feito maravilhas para sua perda de peso. Russell Crowe ganhou peso para seu filme Dois Caras Legais. Através do ciclismo, o ator perdeu cerca de 22 quilos e já parece mais elegante. Esta não é a primeira vez que este ator de 51 anos ganha peso. Em 2000, ele ganhou peso para seu papel no personagem de Gladiador.
