Peggy Dow – 1928
The wholesome and pretty blonde you see here is the one and only Peggy Dow. After dabbling in modeling and radio for a while, she was chosen by a talent scout who gave her a chance to act in a TV show. Peggy proved her mettle and won a seven-year contract with Universal Studios as a reward for her acting chops. Although she has made nine appearances in films and TV shows since then, we would love to remember her performances in films like Harvey and Bright Victory. Dow later married oil baron Walter Helmerich III, breaking many hearts. By the time she married, she had already announced her retirement plan. While most women of her age live on pension money, Peggy is still actively involved in many charitable activities. Take a bow, lady!
