Pete Rose

Major League baseball player Pete Rose went on to become a manager after his successful stint in the sport. His talent in baseball was discovered early, and he signed with the Cincinnati Reds right after high school. But, he later joined the Ohio Army National Guard and served at Fort Knox for six months. He worked as a platoon guide, and even when his stint was over, he worked as a company cook for the next six years. However, his baseball career was tainted later as allegations poured in, saying he had been betting on his own team as a manager. Investigations that followed have revealed that he had been betting since his playing days. He also got in some legal trouble for tax evasion. Despite having great lawyers, he had to pay a fine and went to a prison camp for five months. At 77, he is not looking for retirement homes yet and working as a sports analyst.
