Rod Serling

Writer, producer and narrator Rod Serling is perhaps best known for his sci-fi TV series, The Twilight Zone. He was a gifted child who had a penchant for playwriting from an early age. After completing his high school, his interest shifted towards the military as the war ensued. He eventually joined the army, and after his training was posted in the Philippines. Later, many of his stories and plays had the backdrop of the Philippines. He came back from war with a few injuries that needed surgery, and he had to spend a few days in rehab, too. He died when he was only 50 from a heart attack.
