These Celebrities Served In the Army Before Becoming Famous, Some of Them Were in World War II
Glenn Miller
Arranger, composer, and big-band trombonist Glenn Miller was already raking in big bucks before he joined the army. In fact, his earnings ensured that he would never run into loans ever and can have a very comfortable life in his retirement home. But despite the promises of luxury, he left his comfortable civilian life and joined the Air Force. He was 38 at that time. It was his wish to entertain military veterans with his lovely music. It was this wish that earned him the honor of being a captain and later as a major, too.
