The former UFC heavyweight champion performed his duties for the 101st Airborne and was promoted to the ranks of a sergeant. He left the U.S. Army in 1988. Many might assume that Randy imbibed his fighting techniques during his army days, but the martial artist revealed that, on the contrary, it was much later that he was able to hone his skills. Well, we guess Couture had to undergo many a surgery in his lifetime, but he is one tough guy who served the nation and wrestled with the same zeal and vigor.
