LES RADIATIONS ONT POSÉ UNE RÉELLE MENACE POUR L’ENVIRONNEMENT
Le nombre de vies humaines qui ont été perdues à la suite de l’incident de Tchernobyl, et surtout à long terme, a été des plus élevées. L’impact de cet incident sur l’environnement a toutefois été tout aussi conséquent, et surtout au regard de tous les arbres qui ont été affectés par les radiations.
Les nombreux pins qui ont poussé à côté du réacteur quatre ont notamment pris une teinte brun rougeâtre, ce qui leur a notamment valu d’être baptisés la “forêt rouge”. Ils ont d’ailleurs été vite abattus pour éviter que leurs radiations ne puissent affecter le reste de la végétation aux alentours.
