IL Y EU DÉJÀ QUELQUES RARES CAS SIMILAIRES PAR LE PASSÉ
Les jumeaux conjoints sont un phénomène des plus rares dans l’histoire de l’espèce humaine. Leur naissance n’est observée qu’une fois sur plusieurs dizaines de milliers de cas. Parmi eux, Chang et Eng Bunker, originaires de Siam, ont marqué l’histoire en inspirant le terme de “jumeaux siamois”, désormais célèbre. Leur parcours est tout aussi exceptionnel qu’extraordinaire.
Fermiers à l’origine, ils ont vite captivé les foules lors d’expositions universelles et de spectacles publics. De plus, ils ont uni leurs destins à ceux de deux sœurs, construisant chacun une famille. Le lien entre Chang et Eng était si puissant que lorsqu’un frère décéda en 1875, l’autre le suivit de près, trois heures plus tard. Leur histoire souligne la fraternité au-delà des limites physiques.
