Eg and Ur River, Mongolia
Mongolia is a country located between Russia and China and is two and a half times the size of Texas. Here, anglers will find the legendary taimen, which is the world’s largest and most aggressive salmonid. Unlike the capital city of Mongolia, which has experienced growth over the decades, the countryside where rivers Eg and Ur are located remains largely untouched.
A fisherman’s dream, they are clear and flat, and even the banks are easy to wade through. While looking out to the calm water, it is hard to imagine giant fish lurking beneath. Weather conditions here are stable, and the river clears up fast even if it rains.
