Emma Coburn – Rekordhalterin und Ausnahmetalent im Hindernislauf
Emma Coburn hat den amerikanischen Hindernislauf geprägt wie kaum eine andere Athletin. Als erste Amerikanerin, die bei den Olympischen Spielen 2016 eine Medaille im 3000-Meter-Hindernislauf gewann, schrieb sie Geschichte, als sie den Wettkampf als Drittplatzierte beendete. Ihren nationalen Rekord in dieser Disziplin baute sie kontinuierlich aus und wurde 2017 in London sogar Weltmeisterin.
2019 sicherte sie sich bei den Weltmeisterschaften die Silbermedaille. Mit ihrer Ausdauer und Hingabe ist Emma eine der beeindruckendsten Athletinnen der Leichtathletik, auch wenn sie oft das Rampenlicht meidet. In den letzten Jahren wurde es ruhiger um die Spitzensportlerin, doch ein Comeback ist nicht auszuschließen.
