Mehrzad Marashi: R&B-Sänger — 1.9 Millionen Euro
Was macht eigentlich Mehrzad Marashi? In der siebten DSDS-Staffel galt das Stimmwunder aus Hamburg von Anfang an als Favorit. Im Finale setzte er sich gegen Menowin Fröhlich durch und stürmte anschließend mit seinem Song „Don’t Believe“ die Charts.
Einen Tag nach der Finalsendung erreichte Marashi mit dem Lied “Don’t Believe” Platz eins der deutschen Download-Charts. Er stellte damit gleichzeitig einen neuen Download-Rekord auf, bis dahin hatte sich kein anderer Song in Deutschland innerhalb eines Tages öfter verkauft. Einige Wochen später stellte er einen weiteren Rekord auf, indem er länger als jeder DSDS-Gewinner zuvor mit seiner Single in den Charts vertreten war.
Seither wurde es ein wenig ruhiger um den gebürtigen Iraner, doch ganz untätig blieb er nicht. Im Jahre 2011 eröffnete er die Tanzschule “Mehrzads art of dance” in Hamburg und 2012 gründete er sein eigenes Label M8.
