El surf es un deporte que se suele practicar en las playas mas lindas del mundo. Cada vez más aventureros se suman a esta disciplina, animándose a surfear mar adentro. Garrett McNamara es un surfista estadounidense nacido en Pittsfield, Massachusetts que vive en Nazaré, Portugal. Su decisión de vivir al otro lado del océano Atlántico se dio debido a su profesión; los surfistas eligen ese mar porque tiene las mejores olas. Todas las mañanas practicaba la disciplina y de esta manera logró consagrarse campeona. En 2011 rompió el récord y llegó a ser campeona mundial. Luego lo mejoró en 2013, surfeando la ola más grande del mundo, que se estima en 30 metros. De esta manera se convirtió en un ícono famoso a nivel mundial.
