El ciclismo de montaña es una actividad que consiste en una competición realizada en circuitos naturales a través de bosques y circuitos angostos. En la actualidad se practica con mucha frecuencia ya que ha seducido a muchos atletas aficionados y profesionales alrededor del mundo. Este deporte busca explorar nuevos terrenos difíciles y emocionantes. En la competencia sudafricana Cape Epic ensuciarse la camisa con barro es lo mínimo que podría ocurrir y se recorren 700 kilómetros embarrados. El verdadero desafío consiste en terminar la carrera que tiene una duración de 8 días, y que atrae a cientos de ciclistas profesionales cada año.
