Tom Araya es un metalero de nacimiento, y qué mejor oportunidad para conocer al amor de tu vida en un concierto de trash metal. Pues esa es la historia de amor que vivieron Tom y su esposa Sandra Araya. Tom es un bajista mundialmente famoso y vocalista de la banda metal Slayer.

Tom conoció al músico Kerry King por medio de amigos y este le ofreció un puesto en la banda Slayers, lo cual le dio la oportunidad de desarrollar su carrera musical.

Coincidentemente Sandra y Tom llevan el mismo apellido pero sin ninguna clase de parentesco. Pero lo que sí tienen en común es su afición por la música, tanto así que se conocieron en uno de los conciertos de la banda hace más de 25 años. Viven felices en Buffalo, Texas y tienen dos hijos.
